hoon kim was born in South Korea and came to New York in 1997. He studied MFA at SVA graduate school and quickly gained experience as an installation artist. During the graduate school year, he had a commissioning project with LMCC. After studying numerous materials, he launched studio hk in 2008. studio hk started working in industry by restoring historical art piece in commercial space. Through previous years, studio hk has gained experiences with surface - SOFT, HARD and DIGITAL for each project.
